Social Skills Classes
PEERS® for Adolescent Online Social Skills Classes
PEERS® for Adolescents is a 16-week neuroaffirming , evidence-based program designed to support motivated youth in making and keeping friends. Participants attend weekly 90 minute Zoom classes to learn skills through instruction, role-play, and practicing immediately during on-line activities. Simultaneously, Social Coaches (parents/guardians) attend separate classes to learn how to actively support the successful generalization of these skills.
A mandatory pre-screening interview is required.
This group is well suited for adolescents with ASD, ADHD, or social anxiety. Participants must be motivated to attend.
Cost: $4,000 for the 16-week program
Participants will learn about:
- Developing and maintaining friendships
- Conversation skills
- Entering and exiting conversations
- Electronic communication
- Being a good sport
- Organizing get-togethers
- Handling disagreements
- Handling teasing and bullying
What are the participation requirements?
- Have friendship problems
- Teens in middle school or high school
- Teens must be interested in attending the program
- Teens must agree to participate in the program voluntarily
- Teens must consistently attend the program
- Parent must be willing to participate

6:30-8:00pm EST (5:30-7:00pm CST) Tuesdays (Social Coaches/Parent-Guardian) and 6:30-8:00pm EST (5:30-7:00pm CST) Thursdays (Adolescent Group).

- Person-centered planning to identify strengths, goals, and meaningful outcomes
- Development and ongoing adjustment of individualized program plans
- Guidance with Self-Determination Program budgets and spending plans
- Assistance identifying, vetting, and hiring service providers
- Coordination of services to ensure alignment with participant goals
- Support navigating regional center systems and program requirements
- Monitoring budgets and services for compliance and sustainability
- Coaching participants and families to build independence and self-advocacy
- Integration of executive functioning strategies into daily routines and services
- Collaboration with families, educators, and providers for a cohesive support system
- Ongoing check-ins to review progress and adapt plans as needs evolve
